July 1, 2011 Ricoh Buys Pentax Hoya, which bought the Pentax brand in 2008, has announced they are selling the camera brand to Ricoh for $128 million. While neither are major players in the photojournalism realm, this could have a cascading effect as other manufacturers decide to merge or buy out smaller, innovative companies. June 30, 2011 Is Your Brand Amongst the 100 Most Reputable? Forbes has posted a listing of the 100 most reputable companies in the world and there are a handful of photo-related ones on there. Canon comes in at number 8, Kodak is on there at number 41 and Fujifilm is at 47. Sony, Nokia, Apple, Microsoft and Panasonic also make the list in various places.
