Bad ‘Shop or Bad Stitch?

It is possible it’s the worst case of Photoshopping ever, but I’ll lean towards it being a really poor in-camera panorama stitch job. Either way, how did this get released? LSU Deletes Crosses from Photo of Students

Yeah … not sure what to say about this, but Louisiana State University apparently retouched an image of four students, all painted up, taking out a cross they had on their shoulder. Seems like a state university would be better of not getting into a religious debate.
