Inside the Protestors’ Lives
There have been a lot of images coming out of Egypt the last few weeks. Great news photography, showing us what is happening there. But a lot of it has gotten a bit redundant visually – high angles of lots of people, tear gas hanging in the air, people chanting and stones airborne.
Ed Ou has taken a different look at the protestors for the New York Times, following a group of them back to an apartment in the area they are working out of. Where they are telling their own story through videos they shoot, edit and upload daily. It’s an excellent bit of documentary work that should resonate with all visual journalists.
