A Kiowa with a Camera

Nice piece and gallery by The New Yorker’s Amy Connors on Horace Monroe Poolaw who spent 50 years documenting the Kiowa American Indian tribe of Oklahoma. Love the way his daughter quoted him:

I do not want to be remembered for my pictures, but through my pictures I want my people to remember themselves.
