Photojournalism Competition from Wired.com

It you read the comments, you’d think the new Wired.com photography contest is just a chance for them to steal some of your work (as many photo contests now do). I’m not so sure, though, as the contest subject matter doesn’t really fit with the normal content of the magazine or web site. On top of that, they are offering feedback in some of the entries – something that an amateur would value – and they are only asking for permission to run the photo in the magazine and on the web site, not a full rights grab as is so common.

Probably not something many readers here will be interested in, but I do like the subject matter for this – your local corner store. May have to do this in my class in the fall …
