Reuters will have 15 shooters out there, though they won’t be running around with all of that gear. My guess is they’ll be locked into place hours before the event starts and stuck there until hours after.
In the old days, maybe you’d have a film runner to get your pictures to a darkroom and waiting editors. Now, they’ll probably shoot straight into a laptop which will automatically transfer low res files to a central server. Then, editors will be able to grab the full resolution versions to work up and bounce off the satellites.
Very different from the old days, but very, very cool, eh?
