Building Your Business Model

Steve Myers has a great post up over on the Poynter Institute’s site about ways for journalists to think like business folks. Spend some time on it, then spend a lot of time figuring out how to implement it.

As it’s graduation season and the “staff” job market is still pretty slack, a lot of students will be heading into the wild world of sole proprietorship. (See? That fancy word sounds much better than “freelancer” or the more commonly used “underemployed.”) Hopefully, you’ve been working on your business plan for the last few months … right?

Ugh … okay, part of the fall class is now going to be dedicated to creating a business plan …
