The Gulf War Photo No One Saw
In 1991, Kenneth Jarecke made a startling image – an image almost no one has seen.
I remember this image and still have the one magazine it was published in – American Photo. To hear the rest of the backstory now is pretty amazing and is a good example of how much has changed.
This is an amazing story and photo. I’d never seen the photo before, but as a second grader during the first Gulf War, I remember how bloodless it was advertised as on the news. Thanks for sharing!
