WHNPA Disqualifies a Winning Image

I have a backlog of stories to get through, so there may be a lot of posts in the next few days. Between our annual Weekend Workshop and our server having to be rebuilt, things have been … hectic? So on to the news …

The White House News Photographers Association has disqualified an image for digital manipulation. The image, entered by the Washington Post’s Tracy Howard, had won an Award of Excellence in the Sports Feature/Reaction category.

I am impressed and thankful that the Post’s director of photography, MaryAnne Golon, did the right thing and withdrew the photo.
