You’ve probably seen it already, but in case you haven’t, Jeff Sonderman over at Poynter has an initial reaction to the New York Post’s cover photo of a man about to be killed by a subway train.
I am … stunned.
There is no other description.
Stunned.
I cannot comprehend the thought process that went into that decision. I understand making the image, I understand having a lengthy discussion. But not how they decided to run it.
It does not educate. There is nothing in that graphic image that will provoke a productive conversation. It is one manic, tragic event in a city of millions.

I could not agree more! There’s something deeply sad about the fact they chose to run that image.
