Copyright Office Planning to Raise Registration Fees

FYI

The NPPA is disappointed to report that the U.S. Copyright Office is planning to nearly double the cost of registering your images. They have provided the opportunity for public comment prior to the change and NPPA will be submitting comments regarding the change.

The changes include increases in the cost of group registration of images from $35 to $65. We would like photographers to take a quick 3-minute survey to give us more information about how the proposed changes would impact you.

Our survey will close at midnight EST on May 10.

The survey is available at this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/nppacopyrightfees

The public notice of the change is available at: http://www.copyright.gov/fedreg/2012/77fr18742.pdf

Photographers can submit their own comments at this link: http://www.copyright.gov/docs/newfees/comments/
