Craig Walker POYi Newspaper Photographer of the Year

The Denver Post’s Craig F. walker was named the 2011 Newspaper Photographer of the Year by the 69th Annual Pictures of the Year International competition over the weekend.

I had the pleasure of meeting Walker during the National Press Photographers Association’s Convergence 2010 conference, where he talked about his 2010 Pulitzer Prize. It would be hard for me to name a more humble and genuine guy out there, so picking up two of the top photo awards in the last two years just feels right.
