Go Small, Go Everywhere

Good piece up over on Photo District News about the move to smaller cameras for use in conflict areas. When you don’t look like a professional, the idea goes, you’ll get hassled less.

As a guy who shot Leica film cameras for a long time, and currently carries a small Olympus E-P2 everywhere, there is something to be said about not hiding behind a mass of brass and glass,* it does change the way people react and interact with you.

* Yeah, I know, they’re not brass any more. But “polycarbonate with a titanium frame and glass” just doesn’t have the same ring.
