Reminder: Registration Open for the Bellingham Visual Journalism Conference
FYI …
We’re excited to announce that pre-registration for the 2011 Bellingham Visual Journalism Conference is now open!
We have an excellent faculty lined up this year including Pulitzer Prize-winner Deanne Fitzmaurice and 2010 Scripps Howard Foundation first place winner Lisa Krantz who will speak on topics ranging from the business of multimedia to how to come up with and execute good ideas.
In addition to the Speakers’ Series, we are featuring a two-day, hands-on workshop hosted by nationally renowned producers and instructors including Jim Seida and Meredith Birkett from msnbc.com that will cover multimedia essentials, interviewing techniques, alternative reporting devices and more. There will also be a shoot-out style photo contest and portfolio critique session with prizes for the best student and best professional portfolio.
Attached is the official press release with more information on the faculty, Speakers’ Series, workshop, dates and fees. Also attached is a poster you can print and share. You can download a registration form and find even more information by visiting our website: www.wwu.edu/visualjournalism.
Looks like a good line up, get yourself out there if you can. And then there’s this line from the registration page:
**Registration, plus lunch, is free on Saturday for visual journalists who have been laid off from their staff jobs in the past two years because of the economy. For planning purposes, pre-registration is appreciated.
Kudos to the organizers for lending a hand to those who need a little help.
