Sell (Tell) to Your Audience

Every now and then something catchy pops up in my Twitter feed that has, on the surface, nothing to do with visual journalism. But I click anyway and, today, courtesy of Rands (not his name or his initials, I suspect) came the following:

Who is your audience? How do you connect with them? As journalists now, we have to have an answer to that question.
