The Art and Ethics of Curation

Over on Mashable.com, Josh Sternberg takes on the idea of a new role for journalists: curator. But, really, it’s not a new role so much as it is a new title. Head over there and take a read, what do you think?

Having just returned from SXSW Interactive, where the trade show was laced with app developers pushing some sort of automated curation platforms, I’m more inclined to want a human doing this stuff. Geo-location and social network connections are fine, to a point, but limiting in the scope of what they can “curate” for me. Who is going to look outside of my world for me?
