The Alexia Foundation grant application window is now open. Professional grants proposals are due by 2 p.m. on January 31, 2016, and student proposals are due by 2 p.m. on March 3, 2016 (which is a lot later than they used to be).
he awards have changed over the years …
The Professional Grant winner will receive $20,000 to help produce his or her proposed project. The Student Winner will receive funding for a semester at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, a $1,000 cash grant to help produce the proposed body of work, and $500 will be awarded to that student’s academic department. A student award will also be given to the Second Place Winner. The judges will determine the number of Award of Excellence Winners there will be.
Start your keyboards … this is an awesome grant and an awesome foundation. (And, yes, I’ve done work for them.)
EDIT: I had the professional entry deadline off by a digit, it’s January 31, not 21. Corrected above.
