Annoying Photo Critique Comments
We do a lot of in-class critiquing around here. Every assignment, from every student, ends up on the big screen and we all tear into them … at least, that’s what I want.
What I get is a lot of silence some days, or vague platitudes about how they “like it.” They give no reason, so I have to draw it out.
Over on Jim Goldstein’s site he lists the Top 10 Most Annoying Photo Critique Comments, mostly aimed at artwork, I suspect. But if you ever find yourself uttering any of these things, just … stop.
Except for number six on his list. Me, I’ve never met a photo I didn’t want to crop …
