ICONN is Coming

The Intercollegiate Online News Network’s Annual Conference will be here in Athens, Ga., on January 13 and 14–just a week away. Registration is open until noon on January 10 (and dirt cheap at $15 for students, $25 for faculty and professionals) and includes admission to the Thursday night banquet and lunch on Friday.

We’ve lined up folks from a bunch of different backgrounds to talk about a bunch of different things, all revolving around online journalism in 2011. We’ll talk about tools, share some tips, look at things that are working (and some that aren’t) and talk about how to teach and how to learn this stuff.

All of the sessions will be housed in the Drewry Room of the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Georgia Center, which is right on campus, has been reserved for our conference. The phone number there is 800-884-1381.

Travel info: Atlanta is the closest major airport. By car, it’s about a 90 minute drive. There is also a shuttle service (AAA Airport Express) that will bring you right to the Georgia Centerfrom the airport, cost is $45 each way. Once you’re in Athens, you won’t need a car. The hotel is on the main bus route through campus and the downtown area is a 7-10 minute walk from Grady College.
