This piece by P.F. Bentley is just … gorgeous. A great example of what can be done with a video-capable DSLR camera, some simple lights and a great sense of story. I guess shooting in Hawaii helps, too.

Satellite Photo Comparisons from Haiti

The New York Times has a very cool and very informative page up that has before and after satellite photos from Haiti – moving a slider across the image reveals the pre and post earthquake images. Really neat use of technology to help tell the story. Thanks to Meghan Pittman for pointing this out.

Nocturne is Back Up

Vince Laforet, formerly of the New York Times and the guy who did the first Canon 5D Mark II video a few years ago, has reposted his latest work. “Why We Ride”

Nice set of portraits done by Troy Harvey, a recent grad from the Brooks Institute of Photography, looking at the Ride Fact Crew. Really like the simplicity, the consistency and the pairing of rider and bike. There’s a video with interviews, as well, that will give you a peak at how he lit the portraits.
