A Way to Appease My Paranoia

It won’t settle it much, but Amazon.com is now offering 5 GB of cloud storage for free. And, according to LifeHacker, if you buy just one MP3 album they’ll bump it up to 20 GB.

I just signed up – you log in with your Amazon.com account – and haven’t pushed this around a lot, but it’s not a bad idea. If they develop a simple way to drag and drop files, like DropBox of Apple’s MobileMe iDisk, this could be pretty handy.

Of course, because I’m paranoid, it will not be the only place that I store data – it’s just another cloud option. Is it better than DropBox, the darling of the geeks? Not yet, but it could get there.
