Elliot Elected NPPA President

To almost no one’s surprise, my good friend Sean Elliot became the new president of the National Press Photographers Association this past weekend. I can think of no one more qualified, more committed and more passionate than Sean – he has been an excellent friend, a wonderful professional colleague and a strong advocate for all of us.

And, thinking on that last part, I now ask myself, my students and all of you – what can we do to help? What can we do to make our organization better? To make us more visible? To make us more relevant? Because I believe that if we make this organization stronger, it will make our industry stronger – and that will make our communities stronger.

And isn’t that what we’re supposed to be doing?
